Starting next week, all pupils will be taking part in a Health and Wellbeing survey during their PE lesson in the ICT rooms. In light of this we need to inform parents of what is going on and the rational behind it. It is a national study conducted by Cardiff University that looks at a variety of subject areas that could affect a young persons health and wellbeing. This could be how much exercise they are getting on a weekly basis to how they are feeling emotionally when it comes to exam pressures. The survey is completely anonymously and pupils can opt out of certain questions at any time throughout the process.
I have been delivering assemblies all week to year 7-11 to discuss in more detail what the survey is used for and how the data from it can help to identify and improve a young persons health and wellbeing.
I have attached a letter from Cardiff University that explains what the survey is all about. This is in both Welsh and English. I need to stress that if they wish for their sons/daughters to opt out of the survey contact the school reception as soon as possible.
The following link is a short video of what the survey is all about.
Thank you for your continued support
