Ysgol Bryn Alyn and Coleg Cambria Partnership Inspires Future Aspirations

A new partnership between Ysgol Bryn Alyn and Coleg Cambria is helping to raise aspirations among pupils by providing opportunities to develop critical-thinking skills, explore future pathways and gain first-hand experience of further education.

This week, a group of Year 7, 8 and 9 pupils took part in an enrichment session led by staff from Coleg Cambria, designed to challenge and stretch learners identified through the school's More Able and Talented (MAT) provision.

Throughout the session, pupils engaged in a range of thought-provoking activities that encouraged problem-solving, collaboration and creative thinking. They were invited to explore their strengths, consider their ambitions and reflect on the opportunities available to them beyond secondary education.

The initiative forms part of a wider collaborative programme between Ysgol Bryn Alyn and Coleg Cambria aimed at demystifying college life and helping young people feel confident about their future educational choices. By introducing pupils to college staff and learning experiences at an early stage, both institutions hope to break down barriers and broaden students' horizons.

The programme is set to continue with a visit to the Coleg Cambria campus, where pupils will have the opportunity to experience the college environment first-hand, meet staff and students, and gain a greater understanding of post-16 education routes.

The collaboration reflects a shared commitment by both institutions to ensuring young people are equipped with the confidence, ambition and skills needed to succeed in the next stages of their educational journey. Through sustained engagement and meaningful enrichment opportunities, Ysgol Bryn Alyn and Coleg Cambria are working together to inspire the aspirations of future generations.
